Regular Meeting – December 16, 2025

President Greg Poe called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Board members present:  Evan Byrum, Ed Curtis, Chris Domonkos, Kristen Foerster, Rick Izant, Linda Palchick, Sara Sustin, Mark Vidmar. Jason Abate was also present.

Board member Mark Vidmar submitted his letter of resignation to the Board.  He was elected to serve as a member on the WG Board of Education commencing January 2026.

The minutes from the November 2025 meeting were presented by Monica Gromek. Linda Palchick motioned to approve the minutes; Evan Byrum seconded.  Vote was taken:    Evan Byrum, Ed Curtis, Chris Domonkos, Kristen Foerster, Rick Izant, Linda Palchick, Sara Sustin, Mark Vidmar. All in favor, motion carried.

Treasurer report - Ed Curtis

Treasurer Ed Curtis distributed the November 2025 treasurer’s report. The treasurer’s report showed: checking balance forwarded: $33,254.20; total disbursements: $148.75; total deposits: $52.62; ending checking balance: $33,158.07: available for appropriation: $57,671.39; Improvement Fund: (as of 10/31/2025) $23,769.93; Reallocation to Maintenance for Erosion Control: $4,000.00; Improvement Fund: (as of 11/30/2025: $27,769.93; Ending Savings Balance $24,513.324; Total Disbursements: $0; Deposits: $1.88.  Rick Izant motioned to accept the treasurer’s report. Sara Sustin seconded.  Vote was taken: Evan Byrum, Ed Curtis, Chris Domonkos, Kristen Foerster, Rick Izant, Linda Palchick, Sara Sustin, Mark Vidmar. All in favor, motion carried.

Chris Domonkos motioned the following bill be paid:

Rick Izant seconded the motion.  Evan Byrum, Ed Curtis, Chris Domonkos, Kristen Foerster, Rick Izant, Linda Palchick, Sara Sustin, Mark Vidmar. All in favor, motion carried.

Board members signed off accepting Cyber Security Policy, Awareness training.  Mark Vidmar motioned to accept, and Evan Byrum seconded.  All in favor, motion carried.

Facilities – Linda Palchick  No report

Maintenance – Jason Abate

The trails have been groomed for cross country skiers and keeping trails in good shape for the walkers.  Volleyball nets have been removed, and the site is cleaned up and prepared for the Girl Scout Project.

Website – Chris Domonkos No report

Discussion on Park rules – Chief Thomas Swaidner said gas guns, sling shot, bow and arrows not allowed.  No discharge of firearms.  Fines will be given.

Mark Vidmar thanked the board for his short term.  The WG Board of Education will be recruiting for this Joint Rec Board vacancy.  Linda stated in the past, our board did put input to the WG School Board.

Board discussion if the Pickle Ball Court bids are still acceptable.  Rick Izant will obtain information on the State of Ohio Grant Application.  Concrete base is our choice in the bid, then finish coat to be applied.  Sara Sustin will obtain pricing information on the concrete cost for this project.  Jason Abate has a contact for fencing of the new court. Greg Poe inquired if permits are needed and what will our fundraising options.  He also stated that the Rotary monies are not available for The Commons.

Sara Sustin said advertising on the future Pickle Ball courts should begin.  Also try to get on Russell’s Board agenda.  A firm plan should now be put in place.  2 courts 100K?  1 courts 50K?  Establish tiers of donations?  Mark Vidmar suggested “Buy a Brick” idea.  Conversations with the Chester Pickle Ball Committee?  Sara Sustin will contact them. She thinks private monies were used for their project.  If we get a grant, we will have to back it with monies up front. There will be a lot of paperwork with filing for the grant.

Evan Byrum motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 pm.  Chris Domonkos seconded.  Vote was taken: Evan Byrum, Ed Curtis, Chris Domonkos, Kristen Foerster, Rick Izant, Linda Palchick, Sara Sustin, Mark Vidmar. All in favor, motion carried.
